Alcove has had presence in London since 2015. The Strategic Contract Manager will take our curent London contracts under their control - which include 4 current large Local Authorities (Incl Barking & Dagenham), Social Housing & NHS Contracts.

Location: London or Homebased (with a commitment of 3 days in the office or at Client sites in London)

Overview: Strategic Contract Manager – London will play a critical role in the strategic delivery and operational management of multiple Local Authority & NHS contracts in London. This role is pivotal in mobilising new contracts, managing the performance and teams of existing contracts, and ensuring the optimisation of team performance and contract outcomes. The successful candidate will be expected to provide commercial leadership and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices in contract management as well as being completely hands on in this undefined growth market.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Delivery and Mobilisation:
    • Lead the strategic delivery of multiple multi million £ contracts.
    • Oversee the mobilization of new contracts, ensuring all contractual obligations are met from the outset.
  2. Operational Management:
    • Manage the day-to-day operational delivery of contracts, including team leaders and delivery teams.
    • Ensure the optimisation of team hiring, balance, and performance to meet contract requirements.
    • Monitor and manage the P&L for assigned contracts, ensuring financial targets are met.
    • Be the ‘Contract Lead’ for the Client.
  3. Risk Management:
    • Identify and manage risks within key contracts, implementing mitigation strategies as necessary.
  4. Reporting and Intelligence Sharing:
    • Develop and produce effective reporting mechanisms and intelligence sharing across contracts.
    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to senior management and stakeholders.
  5. Commercial Leadership:
    • Provide commercial leadership across the team and organization.
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of best-in-class contract management and commercial practices.
    • Develop and share good practice, tools, templates, policies, and technology to enhance contract management processes.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in contract or operational management - ideally managing teams of larger than 20 colleagues. 
  • Experience in a large outsourced support services business or in large-scale commissioned local authority outsourced services is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record in managing multiple contracts and teams to achieve strategic and operational goals.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in managing P&L and financial performance of contracts.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong risk management skills, with the ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills, with the ability to produce and present high-quality reports and intelligence.
  • Be the ‘Contract Lead’ for the Client(s), ensuring KPI’s and contractual commitments are met.
